Reflexology

ReflexologyReflexology is based on the belief that there are reflex areas on the feet (and hands) corresponding to all the parts of the body including major organs. The therapist stimulates and works these organs and systems through the reflexes, applying pressure to the feet with thumb and fingers.

BENEFITS
Potential benefits of Reflexology can include:

  • Reduced stress
  • Feelings of deep relaxation
  • The release of endorphins, the body's feel food hormones
  • Improved circulation
  • More efficient removal of impurities or toxins
  • A stronger immune system
  • A sense that the whole body is better balanced, or in harmony

SUITABILITY

Reflexology is generally considered a safe treatment for most people including children and can bring relief to a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions. However, there are contra-indications where your doctor's permission in writing may be required before treatment can commence, for example, if you suffer from diabetes. All sessions begin with a consultation to ensure the suitability of each treatment.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENT?
During the first visit, a case history is taken in order to assess where there may be possible imbalances or problem areas. The client is seated in some form of recliner chair or similar seated (or laying) position and asked to remove shoes and socks. Once the feet have been cleansed, the treatment starts with a gentle relaxation sequence which helps to relax the client and guide the therapist to any problem areas.

LOCATIONS
Home/Office visits are available with prices starting at £30 per hour. Please note all home visits require the presence of another person.
